Barack Obama is unimpressed with the Tebow-Sanchez debate

Now that all the big brains in the world (including Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith) have weighed in on the Tim Tebow vs. Mark Sanchez debate, it was only a matter of time before the man who runs the country gave his opinion on the Most Important Sports Story of All Time. And so it was, on Thursday, that Barack Obama told us just how Tebow-Sanchez will affect the New York Jets. Suffice to say, the prez (an avowed Chicago Bears fan) is not amused.

"I gotta tell you,I don't like the idea of a quarterback controversy at the start of a season, so if I was a Jets fan, I'd be pretty nervous,"Obama said on Columbus radio station 97.1 The Fan during a campaign stop in Ohio.

"Sanchez is notTom Brady yet, but he led them to the playoffs two years in a row. I think Tim Tebow seems to be a wonderful young man, and he's got just a great winning attitude. He really steps up when things count ... But there's going to be a lot of tension in that situation, so it'll be pretty interesting to see how it plays itself out."

So far, when it comes to the actual quarterback situation, Tebow seems to be the fringe candidate -- the Jets have made all the right noises about Sanchez being the main man, and Tebow has been installed as the Wildcat quarterback and alleged special teams enforcer. However, as Obama said, we'll see how it plays out. Should Sanchez struggle early in the season as he has before, Tebow may be the mystery candidate to come out of nowhere and get the nod.

And now that Obama has this covered, we just can't wait for Mitt Romney to weigh in on the John Skelton-Kevin Kolb competition going on in Arizona. Perhaps every presidential candidate could pick a quarterback rotation to defend through the primaries -- goodness knows, that wouldn't be any sillier than some of the stuff we're bound to hear through the election process.
