Robert Griffin III can?t start his NFL career any more perfectly

Going into a hostile environment in the NFL can't be easy for any quarterback. Now imagine you're a rookie and you're playing in your first game against the New Orleans Saints on the road.

That didn't phase Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins, as they dominated the game despite the final score, winning 40-32 against a team that was 8-0 at home last year during the regular season. The Redskins didn't even score 30 points in a game all of last season.

The second overall pick in the draft by the Redskins carved up the Saints by completing his first seven passes in the first quarter for 123 yards, including a beautiful 88-yard touchdown toss over the middle to receiver Pierre Garcon.

Griffin finally threw an incomplete pass after his eighth completion in a row; however, he then threw his second touchdown in just the first 20 minutes of his NFL career on a 5-yard toss to Aldrick Robinson.

RG3 finished the game with a stat line that you'd come to expect from the veteran stars of the league: 19-26, 320 yards, and two touchdowns with no interceptions.

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has been gushing about Griffin's ability since he was drafted, but he didn't take the training wheels off the QB much in the preseason. We on Shutdown Corner hope to see a lot more of this special kid.

Griffin is the first quarterback born in the 1990s to start an NFL game. The Heisman trophy winner is truly wise beyond his years and continues to amaze.

What else makes RG3 special? Well, he's the first NFL player to have a Roman numeral on his jersey.
